The committee approved two related personnel actions to convert the county historian from part time to full time and upgrade the position's management grade from D to F.
Nate explained the change will expand hours and duties — including more school visits and use of county historic facilities — and will require a grade change. On costs, staff said the current part-time pay is "in the neighborhood of 24" (current, part-time basis) and the full-time step and grade would increase total compensation; the committee approved both the salary-plan amendment and the reclassification by voice vote.
Members asked about additional responsibilities and whether the person would double hours from roughly 20 to 40; staff confirmed the position will become full-time. A resolution or appointment step will be finalized in implementation paperwork.
