Planning commission approves rezoning for volunteer firehouse in Twin River Ranchos

Cody Allen, chief of the Rindon Volunteer Fire Department, told commissioners the existing Osino station increased volunteer interest and response capacity: "We've had a 100% increase on our volunteer firefighter, applications and approval. We've increased our call volume, our response volume, by probably 100% to 150%." Allen said the adapted building is "fit for purpose" and would allow the department to expand service to Rendon and surrounding communities. A commissioner moved to approve COZ 20515 with staff recommendations and an added condition regarding donation of the parcel; the motion carried by voice vote.
