Elko County commissioners approved acquisition of a 2009 tactical water tender from Ryan Auto Sales and authorized shipping an offer to Fire Trucks Unlimited for remounting work priced at $69,330.
The district assistant said the chassis is in good condition and that the district was searching for a tank and pump they could remount. When asked about the cost of a new comparable vehicle he estimated about $300,000–$350,000 and said, "As long as we can keep the engine running ... we expect at least 10 years out of it." The board voted and the chair announced "D2 carries."
