NDOT equipment, uncommissioned generator and a Dec. 2 commissioning date

Staff reported NDOT-installed equipment at the Peavine/Peavey building since May and possible litigation on parts of the trunking upgrade; staff also admitted a backup generator had not been commissioned and scheduled Cummins to commission it on December 2.
Staff raised concerns about a large amount of NDOT equipment being installed in the Peavine (Peavey) building and said district contacts with NDOT have turned over, complicating coordination. "There's a considerable amount of equipment that's been installed in the new building up on, Peavey, and it's been there since May," the operations speaker said, adding he will pursue contacts and ensure rent and oversight responsibilities are addressed.
On generator commissioning, field technician Kenny (S6) acknowledged the district had installed a backup generator but failed to commission it: "We installed the generator. We filled the propane tank, but Cummins never came out to actually, commission it. I've got them scheduled for December 2." The board scheduled follow‑up and noted the district must ensure critical backup systems are commissioned and fully functional before winter weather.
