Hall County assessors move meetings to 5 p.m., tighten public-comment rules

The Hall County Board of Tax Assessors on Jan. 7 approved two procedural policy changes: a revised meeting time policy that sets the start of regular meetings at 5:00 p.m. (changed from 4:00 p.m.) and a revised public comment policy that adjusts which items may be discussed and reduces individual speaker time allotments.
Interim Chief Appraiser John Smith presented both policies. The meeting time change passed unanimously, 5-0. The revised public comment policy passed 4-1, with AJ Zurzolo recorded as the lone dissenting vote. Two members of the public, identified in the minutes as Ms. Harris and Ms. White, commented that moving public comment to the front of the agenda and shortening speaker time was undesirable.
