Hall County Planning Commission backs renaming of 0.60-mile segment of White Sulphur Road to Cagle Road

The Hall County Planning Commission on Aug. 18 voted unanimously to approve a request to rename an approximately 0.60-mile segment of White Sulphur Road to Cagle Road in Commission District 3. The item was presented by Katie Greenway, Planning and Zoning Administrator, and approved on a motion by Frank Sosebee seconded by André Castleberry (vote 5-0).
Commissioner Stan Hunt asked whether the renaming would take effect immediately after the Board of Commissioners approved the change. Beth Garmon, Director of Planning and Zoning, confirmed it would and said county staff "would contact the United States Postal Service to assist with the transition for all affected." There were no public comments for or against the request during the public hearing.
The commission's approval was recorded with the full conditions and will be forwarded to the Board of Commissioners for final action. The item was handled as part of the consent of public hearings and carries routine implementation steps including notification to affected agencies and property owners.
