Krystal Berry, elections staff member, told the board the office currently lists 21,585 active voters and 1,760 inactive voters, for a total of 23,345 registered voters in Union County.
Berry said the office will improve handicap access by installing a push button on the building exterior and will replace its door locks with a badge-access system; board members have already received badges for use when the system is activated. She also said poll worker training for early voting was scheduled for the evening of April 13 and that staff had prepared an early-voting poll worker schedule. Berry urged caution about phishing and scam emails, noting other Georgia counties had been targeted.
