Parks staff told the advisory board that maintenance crews, together with a regular trail volunteer, completed fuels-reduction and removed downstream debris along Tickle Creek Trail between Bridge 1 and Bridge 4.
Staff emphasized the maintenance trade-offs between an easement and parkland dedication: "There won't be maintenance for us. Right? As a trail easement, there will not be maintenance. But if there's a parkland dedication, we have now taken ownership of a green piece of land...it becomes the city's obligation to address" issues such as declining trees and invasive blackberries, staff said. The board discussed access difficulties and vegetation on the parcel as part of weighing the easement recommendation.
