City staff preview summer concerts, family events and two-day festival

Parks and Recreation outlined a busy summer calendar including a Petty Fever concert at Meinig Park (Tuesday the 16th, 6–8 p.m.), Longest Day Parkway, Noah's Quest 5K on June 27, a July 4 celebration, and a two-day skateboard and mountain bike festival on August 22–23.
John, the city recreation staff member, outlined the department’s summer lineup and asked the public to attend and participate. He said the Petty Fever tribute band will play Meinig Park on Tuesday the 16th from 6 to 8 p.m., with food and beverages available and an expectation of roughly 200 to 450 attendees for past concerts.
John also previewed Longest Day Parkway (a neighborhood showcase with department booths), Noah’s Quest (a June 27 5K to support families that lost a child), the July 4th fireworks with traffic impacts on Bluff, and a two-day community "drop in" festival and mountain-bike/skate competition on August 22–23 with vendor booths, registration, waivers and age-bracketed events.
