During discussion, Councilor Hokanson noted that planned speed-limit adjustments near the project site would be more important once the project moves forward and urged that the zone changes occur sooner rather than later. The council did not delay the grants to address the speed-limit issue; the motion to approve the grants passed and the executive director was authorized to execute the contracts.
The council's action authorizes staff to finalize grant documents; council members noted there are additional applicants under consideration for the program. The meeting adjourned after routine closing remarks.
