Board members said the vote restored the board to its normal annual election cycle after earlier disruptions. As one member explained during the discussion, the board "missed electing last June" because of staff turnover and an interim director; holding elections this month was framed as returning to the appropriate annual schedule. The motions were approved by voice vote.
