Summary
The Board voted to take no action on selling grave spaces in Section I of Greenwood Cemetery, noting a prior town resolution prohibits sales in the old part of the cemetery and that an amendment would be required to permit sales.

The Board considered a request to sell two grave spaces in Section I of Greenwood Cemetery to Melissa VanTuyl. Town Clerk Shirley Herring explained that, several years earlier, the Board had passed a resolution prohibiting further sales in the old part of the cemetery (Section I). Town Attorney Teddy Abbott said that, to sell spaces in that section, the Board would need to amend the existing resolution.
During new business Melissa and Joe VanTuyl told the Board they lacked proof of an earlier purchase by a relative and were willing to buy the spaces. Mayor Bradah Littlefield moved to take no action on the sale, the motion was seconded by Whitney Littlefield and carried unanimously, preserving the prior restriction; the Board said it would “look into this matter.”
