A committee member told the board they intend to resign after the January meeting to care for an ailing parent in Twin Falls and asked the board to record the resignation in writing. “January is going to be my last meeting,” the member said, and agreed to submit a formal resignation letter so the board could legally post the vacancy.
Members asked staff to prepare the statutory newspaper posting once the resignation is received. Marissa offered to prepare the posting and reminded the group that the paper notice is required by law before accepting applications for the vacancy. The board did not take a vote beyond acknowledging the resignation notice.
