Elko County staff reported that a Federal Lands Access Program grant will fund an $80,000 scoping study for phase 1 of the proposed Humboldt Ruby's Trail, which would connect Carlin to Lamoille Canyon via Elko and Spring Creek access points. Parks/transportation staff (S34) said the award requires a Memorandum of Agreement and no local match.
Commissioners moved and approved the MOA by voice vote. Staff said the study is a first step toward a longer trail network intended to improve nonmotorized connections between communities and recreation areas.
