A county presenter summarized the Chantelle project closeout and contract performance. The two-year, locally managed project covered 3,509 county locations and resulted in about 3,456 subsidy passings that were serviceable; 105 subsidy passings were not serviceable due to nonhabitable structures or denied entry. "They ended up constructing 354 miles," the presenter said, and staff reported the project spent a little over $19,000,000 in total.
The presenter told the board that all remittances had been submitted, and because the project is far enough along in conditional closeout with the administering agency the county could release most of the 10% retainage in the next couple of weeks. Staff recommended accepting the closeout documentation and proceeding with retainage release when conditional items are cleared.
