River Street contractor says construction nearing first service turn-ups after weather delays

Rob Taylor of River Street reported to the board that construction continues across multiple cabinet areas and that several VDOT and railroad permits have been submitted or received. "Construction has been about 99% complete for the boring, which is about 57,000 feet," Taylor said, and the team has completed roughly 53,000 feet of plowing.
Taylor said the project is under construction at about 269 locations and that weather caused roughly a three-week stoppage that delayed the planned turn-up of approximately 109 initial service locations. He described next steps: completing final splicing, preparing customer mailings when those locations are ready, and moving crews into successive cabinet areas as permits and contractor assignments are finalized.
