Kendall County proclaims April 2026 Child Abuse Prevention Month, community partners outline supports

The Kendall County Commissioners on March 24 adopted a proclamation declaring April 2026 as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month in Kendall County. Judge Shane Stolarz read the proclamation and invited local partners to describe prevention and response services.
Holly Pickett of SJRC Texas Belong said the nonprofit oversees foster‑care services across a 28‑county region that includes Kendall County, and reported that Kendall County currently has "about a dozen children who are in the foster care system." Hill Country Crisis Council and Transformation House representatives described forensic interviews, multidisciplinary case coordination and transitional housing and counseling programs. The partners announced community events including a "Blue Breakfast" and a "Blue Sunday" moment to raise awareness.
