The committee also discussed the pond's local effectiveness: staff said, based on project reports, the 100-acre pond alone is expected to reduce water surface elevations in the Brooklyn subdivision by about 6 inches. Members emphasized the need to ensure completed projects are reflected in FEMA models so mapped risk aligns with built mitigation.
