LEPC authorizes SERC submission work, reschedules next meeting and elects Daniel Hassett as secretary

The committee approved three procedural items by voice vote. Members authorized the Executive Committee and staff to prepare required updates for timely submission to the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) with the caveat that any major revisions would be returned to the full committee for review. Daniel Hassett moved the authorization and Jen Tingle seconded; the motion passed with no nays.
The committee also voted to move its next regularly scheduled meeting from Feb. 12 to Feb. 19, 2026, after a motion and second. Finally, committee members nominated and re-elected Daniel Hassett for the position of LEPC secretary for 2026; the nomination was moved by Jen Tingle and seconded by Michael Peck, and the voice vote recorded no nays. Cabness said the commission will forward the nomination to the County Commission for final approval as required by the bylaws.
