The Vernon County Commission voted Dec. 24 to accept a 2025 risk-management insurance plan brokered by Higginbotham Financial Services. Commissioner Cindy Thompson moved to accept the plan, which uses Travelers for $194,174 and MoPerm for $85,861; Commissioner Everett L. Wolfe seconded the motion and the commission recorded a unanimous vote in favor.
The minutes note a 36-month broker partnership with Higginbotham to shop and advise on the insurance market and state that the arrangement is one-way: the county may change brokers at any time during renewal or otherwise if it chooses. The record does not show a separate procurement vote beyond the motion accepting the plan.
