Commission awards hauling and crushed-concrete bids; CDBG paving bids to be certified

The Geneva County Commission considered multiple procurement items June 23. Commissioners voted to award the lime rock hauling bid to CR Pate Logging, Inc. and later awarded the recycled concrete base and #41 stone hauling to Johnston Trucking; both awards passed unanimously.
The commission also received three bids for the CDBG street-resurfacing project covering Sellersville and Coffee Springs: Southeast Construction Company ($477,761.00), Wiregrass Construction Company ($546,462.00), and APAC ($668,007.00). Emily VanScyoc with Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development will verify that the bids meet program requirements and present a recommendation for a vote at the next commission meeting.
Commissioners tabled one hauling and rip-rap bid to allow the county engineer and assistant engineer to tabulate bids and return with a recommendation. The meeting record includes the official bid tabulation sheet.
