Committee authorizes renewal of Sales Tax Sharing Agreement with Newburgh, Middletown and Port Jervis

The Rules Committee on Jan. 22 approved a request authorizing the County Executive to sign a renewal Sales Tax Sharing Agreement with the cities of Newburgh, Middletown and Port Jervis. The agreement is a three-year deal that expires next month, Deputy County Executive Harold J. Porr, III told the committee.
Legislator Barry J. Cheney asked whether the percentage allocations in the agreement had changed; Porr replied there were no changes to the percentages. The motion to authorize renewal carried unanimously.
