County judge authorized to sign state victim-assistance grant application

The Commissioners Court authorized the county judge to execute a state grant application to fund a victim assistance coordinator, a position that county staff said is required by Chapter 56 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and is provided at no cash match to the county.
"This is one of our victim assistance folks... This is a no cash match from the county," Jason said while explaining the VCLG application and noting the position is stationed at APD to provide immediate contact with victims. The court voted to approve the resolution 5–0.
