The Coosa County Commission authorized the Alabama Secretary of State to act as the county's agent for the 2025 National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) confirmation-mailing process. The agreement allows the Secretary of State to pay postage for required voter notifications and obligates the county to cover business-reply fees and postage charges (with the county eligible for reimbursement from the State Elections Fund under existing law).
The motion to approve the agency agreement was moved and seconded during the Dec. 10 meeting and recorded as unanimous. The minutes reference Code of Alabama §17-4-30(a) and §17-4-31 concerning posting and reimbursement procedures in connection with the NVRA mailing process.
