Commission approves HVAC for sheriff's sally port and $50,000 transfer for dispatch console

On Nov. 12 the Coosa County Commission approved two sheriff's office items: a contract with Craft Air Solutions to install an HVAC system in the sally port at a cost of $16,908.92 using capital improvement funds, and a budget transfer of $50,000 from the FY24 Sheriff’s Office budget into FY25 Jail budget Line Item 499 to pay for replacement of the dispatch console. Commissioner John Forbus moved both measures; Commissioner Bertha K. McElrath seconded and both motions were unanimously approved.
Minutes record the contractor name and exact HVAC cost ($16,908.92) and the explicit $50,000 transfer amount. The Commission noted these as capital and operational expenditures and authorized county staff to implement the purchases and budget adjustments.
