Coosa County approves $15,000 ARPA grant for Chamber website and marketing

The Coosa County Commission voted unanimously on Nov. 12 to allocate up to $15,000 in American Rescue Plan Act revenue-replacement funds to the Coosa County Chamber of Commerce to support development of a new website and related marketing and promotional materials. Commissioner Bertha K. McElrath moved the resolution, and Commissioner John Forbus seconded; Chairman Lamar Daugherty was authorized to sign the resolution and associated funding agreement.
The approved funding agreement (Project No. 01037-061-240520-0036, FAIN SLFRP5492) states the award is to be used for website development, paid advertising, marketing and informational materials. County Administrator Amy Gilliland is listed as the county point of contact and Kathy Fulmer as the Chamber treasurer and recipient point of contact. The resolution cites compliance with the Treasury final rule (Jan. 6, 2022) and Alabama Const. § 94.01, and it conditions obligation of funds on being obligated by Dec. 31, 2024 and expended by Dec. 31, 2026.
The Commission’s action formalizes the County’s ARPA revenue-replacement designation for this project and directs the County ARPA Program Director to ensure compliance with federal and state rules. The funding agreement requires the Chamber to use the funds for the stated economic-development purposes and includes standard reporting and approval steps before final disbursement.
