Southern told the Commission that "the Secretary of State's office will cover the initial set up cost of $10,250.00 and the county would be responsible for the monthly maintenance fee of $850.00." Commissioners approved the software purchase understanding the state would provide the one-time setup funding while the county would assume ongoing maintenance costs.
County records show the item had previously been tabled at the last meeting; Commissioners Brannon and Wilks seconded and supported the motion this meeting. The system is intended to streamline mapping and data entry for voter districts; no implementation timeline beyond setup and maintenance costs was specified in the minutes.
