Vernon County accepts multiple service bids; hay baling motion passes with one abstention

At the Dec. 11 meeting the Vernon County Commission approved a series of service contracts. Commissioner Cindy Thompson moved to accept Jim Erwin's hay-baling bid at $175 per year; Commissioner Joe Wilson seconded and the motion passed with Thompson and Wilson voting yes and Commissioner Everett L. Wolfe abstaining. The commission also approved Midwest Pest Solutions for pest control at $225 per month and DB Disposal LLC for trash hauling at $515 per month plus $100 per dumpster for special events.
The board accepted a printing bid from the Nevada Daily Mail at $7.50 per column inch for 2025 legal notices and the 2024 financial statement. Commissioners also accepted rock supply bids from Holiday Sand and Stone, Mulberry Limestone Quarry and Midwest Minerals; the record notes there were no bids for concrete and no bids for rock hauling. All motions related to pest control, trash hauling, printing and rock supply were recorded as approved with unanimous votes where noted.
