Council approves multiple road, bridge and park grants totaling more than $400,000

Director Nick Creevy presented a suite of infrastructure and capital funding actions that the council approved on Feb. 11. Approved items included $97,500 for Bridge 27 rehabilitation (from the Cumulative Bridge fund), $300,000 for paving (MVH Restricted), $86,900 for salt (County Highway), and a $10,000 traffic study (Floyd Co. Infrastructure fund). The council also approved commissioner grant allocations totaling $403,683.50, which included $200,000 earmarked for Caesar Foundation Park and a $146,373 LWCF grant match.
Councilors approved each item by motion. The adopted actions cover both maintenance (salt, paving) and planned capital investments and grant matches that will move into procurement and project scheduling stages with county departments.
