Council continues Village sponsorship of resident composting program through December 2025

Assistant Fiscal Officer Peggy Shanahan told council that 53 residents are currently participating in the Village-sponsored composting program and that 44 of them routinely set the buckets out each week, an 83% participation rate. She asked for Council’s feedback on continuing Village sponsorship.
Council members generally supported continuing sponsorship and Mr. Voelker moved to continue full sponsorship of the composting program with The Compost Exchange through December 2025; Mr. Jolson seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Council agreed to revisit the program during 2026 appropriation discussions in the fall.
