Commissioners allocate remaining ARPA funds, approve administrative items and table health-board appointment

Commissioner David Berry reported $26,000 in ARPA funds remained unallocated and moved to hold $5,918 to pay Baker Tilly for ARPA reporting. He proposed splitting the remaining $20,000 among local recipients, allocating $5,000 each to Putnam County Fairgrounds, the Town of Russellville, the Town of Roachdale and the Town of Bainbridge community centers. Commissioner Helmer asked about Reelsville; Berry noted the county previously provided Reelsville $40,000. Commissioner Rick Woodall seconded Berry's motion; the board passed the allocation and hold unanimously.
During old business the board approved a $100 health incentive for employees who get an annual physical at the county clinic in 2025, approved payment of a drone invoice, and authorized appraisal payment for the Keightly Road property from the EDIT warchest not to exceed $6,000 (Auditor Kristina Berish said the bill cannot be paid until County Council approves the appropriation and thus payment will occur in 2025). The Health Department request to reappoint Dr. Kirsch for a four-year term (Jan. 1, 2025'Dec. 31, 2028) was discussed and tabled for the next meeting to consider alongside other appointments.
