Commission approves ARPA allocations for ACEE audit, IT equipment; authorizes grant applications and sheriff's new financing plan

At the Aug. 13 meeting the commission adopted a resolution allocating ARPA revenue-replacement funds to cover up to $8,320 for the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts to perform the ACEE audit required by ARPA terms. The resolution states funds must be obligated by Dec. 31, 2024 and expended by Dec. 31, 2026.
The board also approved allocating up to $5,079.85 in ARPA funds to purchase three laptops and three scanners for county staff, authorized applying for the T-Mobile Hometown Grant Program and the Hugh Kaul Foundation grant through Regions Charitable Trust, and approved the sheriff's request to use Ford Motor Credit Municipal Purchase/Leasing for vehicle financing instead of Bancorp (the change replaces a prior approval from July 29, 2024). The motion to table additional Sally Port renovation purchases was also recorded.
