City staff presented and the council adopted the fiscal year 2026–27 budget at the June 10 meeting. Joe O'Neil, who delivered the staff report, described the structure of the budget documents and summarized total appropriations. "If you add all of these numbers up those are, the $22,000,000 that were approved to spend and then the rest of course is in reserve," he said, and the council acknowledged the city's conservative approach to reserves. The budget materials also showed the tax rate and other object classifications required by Oregon budget law.
Councilors asked clarifying questions about reserves and major capital projects (water reservoir, transmission main line) and thanked staff and the budget committee for their work. After no public testimony, a motion to adopt Resolution 2026‑10 (adopting the FY2026‑27 budget) passed unanimously by roll call.
