Vendor proposes 23 AED units for Geneva County; commission tables purchase

County Attorney Phil Eldridge asked for an itemized estimate and verification that Cardiac Solutions qualifies for the bid-law cooperative purchasing exemption under Alabama Code section 41-16-51(a)(16); Yother said he could provide Alabama vendor registration and licensing documents. Eldridge also asked whether the quoted remote monitoring was a recurring charge; Yother said the monitoring is included for the eight-year life of the devices. Eldridge inquired about replacement pad costs; Yother said pads are currently priced at $89 and must be replaced after each use.
After questions about procurement compliance, Commissioner Weston Spivey moved to table the discussion so the administrator could verify bid-exemption eligibility and receive the requested documentation; Commissioner Jeff Hatcher seconded and the motion passed 4-0. The action was recorded as a tabled item pending submission of an itemized estimate, vendor Alabama registration, and auditor confirmation that the purchase may proceed under the cited statutory exemption.
