Hall County approves rezoning and special use for O’Kelly Road data center with noise and buffer limits

Chris Hoag, the applicant representative, stated they "now have a will-serve letter from the Gainesville Water Department." Conditions set sound limits of no more than 60 dB(A) at property boundaries (55 dB(A) between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.), minimum distances for generators, staged generator testing, a required acoustical noise study, and a 100-foot undisturbed buffer along specified adjacent parcels. The motions to approve both the rezoning and the special use passed 3-0 (Braswell recused, Davidson absent).
