"I stand before you, honored to be here today, after serving, continuing to serve until August 31, 48 years," Mayor Larry Waters said, thanking colleagues, staff, and his family. Members including Representative Foerner and others offered personal remarks about Waters's mentorship and service.
The House adopted the resolution without amendment as part of the welcoming and honors portion of the session.
