Town of Conquest moves toward adopting county-drafted land use regulations; environmental review set for May 19

The Town of Conquest has been working with the Cayuga County Planning Department under a 16-month contract to develop a comprehensive set of land-use regulations, Senior Planner Evan Tuthill reported to the committee.
The steering committee finalized proposed regulations covering site plan review, special use permits, solar energy systems, town environmental quality review and subdivisions and has provided recommendations to the Town Board. The Town held a public informational meeting on April 10, will begin environmental review on May 19, and staff indicated the Local Law could be formally adopted by July 2025. The project has generated $9,933.80 in revenue to date with an estimated $2,500 anticipated before completion.
