County recycling event gathers 57,471 pounds of electronics; tire event planned for June

Senior Planner Evan Tuthill reported that the first of four scheduled electronics recycling events, held March 22, 2025 at three county locations, collected a total of 57,471 pounds of electronic material for responsible recycling.
Tuthill said staff are preparing for a Tire Collection and Recycling Event tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025 and that the county has received state assistance funding (Household Hazardous Waste State Assistance Program) to reimburse 50% of 2023 HHW collection costs and has applied for additional assistance to cover 50% of 2024 program expenses.
The Planning Department will continue outreach and public information efforts for upcoming collection events and related recycling programming.
