Planner Emily Antonacci reported two NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities grant awards totaling $135,000 (a $10,000 grant and a $125,000 grant) to support installation of solar and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
Antonacci said work includes rooftop solar at the county motor pool, ground/roof-mounted solar at the Parks offices, and up to four EV charging stations at Emerson Park. She said components and installation costs are expected to be covered by the grant, IRA tax incentives, NY‑SUN and joint‑utility Make Ready incentives; site feasibility assessments and vendor coordination are underway, and construction is anticipated to begin in the fall pending contractor and utility approvals.
The Planning Department noted the motor pool rooftop solar portion is on hold until a roof replacement bid is issued.
