Kari Terwilliger, Director of Planning and Economic Development, reported that the county submitted the Route 90 Corridor Strategic Investment Plan to New York State at the end of 2024 and is awaiting which local projects, if any, will receive Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) funds.
Senior Planner Evan Tuthill said the county also submitted a Restore NY grant application on December 19, 2024 seeking $1,000,000 to redevelop Beacon Bay Marina in the Village of Cayuga into a lodging destination, a project included in the Route 90 DRI package. He told the committee award notifications for Restore NY are expected in June or July 2025.
The Planning Department said it will coordinate implementation with the affected villages if awards are made and that the department led the SIP effort in coordination with village partners. No final funding decisions had been announced during the meeting.
