ReBecca Main, Public Health Programs Manager, reported Jan. 20 that the Health Education unit will send Reality Check students to Albany for Legislative Education Day in February and that local youth will attend a Youth Bureau Leadership Forum.
Main also announced a Cortland County Youth Voice Initiative scheduled for Feb. 18 with topics that include poverty, screen time, and the ATI program; attendees will be able to participate in an escape-room activity. She said an ATFC mini-grant will result in a full sub-award to Access To Independence to fund community education on tobacco marketing and sales, including a social-media campaign. Main added the department has a substantial supply of bikes for youth and adults to support transportation and physical activity.
