SPARK open house planned and Main Street holiday event approved at courthouse

Dan Robison told the Board that SPARK will hold an open house on Nov. 22 from 5:00–6:30 p.m. as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week and described progress repurposing the former George's Tire building at 2nd and Broadway in Seymour. "You are all welcome to come out that evening and see the space for the first time," Robison said, noting a commitment of local redevelopment and Ready II funding pending an Ernst & Young audit.
Conner Barnette, speaking for Brownstown/Ewing Main Street, requested use of the courthouse lobby and lawn for a Main Street Christmas event on Dec. 3 from 6:00–7:30 p.m. Commissioner Matt Reedy moved to approve the request, Commissioner Bob Gillaspy seconded, and the motion carried with three yes votes.
Robison emphasized partnership among city, county and state entities on the SPARK project and thanked volunteers and local groups who helped with clean-up. He said the project is in final space-planning and invited county officials to the open house to view the site.
