A staff member (Ed) said the company paid fees and was provided thousands of pages of records but later filed suit seeking additional material. "They filed suit... We will defend it," Ed said, and staff promised to provide council members with a copy of the complaint and related materials. Council received the notification and asked staff to keep the council apprised of developments.
The presentation included no legal analysis on merits; staff said they needed more time to gather and assess the records requested and that litigation was pending.
