Magistrate continues RV/gravel dispute; asks owner to meet with building department

During a recall on the Aug. 6 docket, the respondent said he removed the RV and cleared the site but disagreed with a city requirement that compacted gravel be restored to sod. The respondent said county staff had told him the surface was acceptable and described the cost of required civil-engineer grading as prohibitive.
The magistrate said Cooper City code controls and that compacted gravel can affect drainage, noting that final remedy depends on the building department’s site assessment: “So what I'm going to do is, I'm going to continue this to September. You need to meet with the building department and discuss what's there or not there,” he said. City staff offered to inspect the property with permission. The magistrate instructed the respondent to supply any documentation about the surface and to coordinate with building staff; if the department finds no further action is required, staff will close the case, otherwise the respondent may request additional time to comply.
