Magistrate certifies $250 fine for Sunshine Gasoline's missing local business tax receipt

Fire-prevention staff told the magistrate that Sunshine Gasoline had not complied with Cooper City’s requirement for an updated local business tax receipt. Orlando Hurtado, a fire-prevention lieutenant with Berkshire Fire Rescue, told the bench: “As of today, they have not complied.”
On that basis the magistrate certified a $250 fine for the business-tax-receipt violation and indicated the matter is subject to the usual enforcement process. The magistrate read the relevant code section into the record and ordered certification of the fine; staff will process the penalty and notify the business in writing.
