City structural inspector: final balcony reports pending; Baffy Woods case continued to October

Mark Young, Cooper City's chief structural inspector, told the magistrate that he has received the balcony-repair reports required by the building-safety-inspection program, with the most recent arriving on July 18. “I have received all of the balcony, repair reports at this point. The last one I got on July 18,” Young said during the Aug. 6 docket.
Young told the bench that final structural and electrical BSIP reports remain outstanding and that those engineering reports are required before the city can close the matter. The magistrate continued the Baffy Woods Condominium Association case to October and instructed staff to dismiss the docket entry if the reports are received and compliance is demonstrated before that date.
The continuation gives engineers time to submit final documentation and allows staff to verify compliance through the established BSIP process.
