New homeowner given until Oct. 6 to secure fence permit or face daily fines

Hussain Golani, the owner of 4951 SW 88 Terrace, said he and his family purchased the house in November 2024 and did not know a permit was required for the fence; he told the court he had applied and paid for a permit but it had not yet been issued. "We were not aware that we needed a permit for building a fence because we just moved in like November 2024," Golani said.
Officer Giordano explained the original notice went to the prior owner and a new notice was sent to the current owners. Special Magistrate Kleinman found a violation, set a compliance deadline that provides the owner until Oct. 6, 2025 to secure the permit and ordered a $150 administrative fee for today's proceeding. Kleinman warned that if the permit is not issued by Oct. 6 a $50-per-day fine will begin; he emphasized staff will work with owners if permit delays are attributable to the permitting process rather than owner inaction.
