Commissioners approve flood cleanup, construction and leasing contracts, and Act 13 allocations

The board approved a set of contracts and capital items at the April 15 meeting. Approved were a Larson Design Group cost estimate for flood debris removal ($15,350, reimbursable), a Priset Construction proposal to parge and paint the Veteran’s Affairs building foundation ($4,500; Act 13), and a change order from Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. for additional Patterson Trailhead site amenities totaling $198,820.60 to be deducted from a credit. The county also approved Elemental Shelter Solutions for the build, delivery and setup of a salt shed at the Human Services complex for $109,970.39 using Liquid Fuels funds.
Other approvals included an agreement with Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority for a courthouse refuse container ($35/month) and a five-year lease with Enterprise Fleet Management for a 2025 F-150 Police Responder for the Sheriff’s Office at $1,294.71/month. Under Act 13 funding the board approved $165,877 to Penn State Extension (paid quarterly) and $10,000 to the Tioga County Historical Society; a $30,000 request from Commonwealth University-Mansfield Public Safety Training Institute was tabled. The board noted March 2025 payroll/benefits of $1,409,308.41 and accounts payable of $3,891,876.09.
