Wayne County approved a suite of measures to strengthen organizational compliance and oversight, including establishing a full-time Compliance Office, endorsing new in-person Employee Compliance and Leadership Orientation policies, and accepting substantive revisions to the county Compliance Plan to align with OMIG/18 NYCRR Part 521.
The board authorized the Treasurer to transfer $146,588 from unassigned general fund balance and directed the Budget Officer to make specific personnel and contractual appropriations to staff the Compliance Office, including a Director of Compliance and related salary/fringe lines and modest consultant and travel budgets. The Board also directed the Director of Compliance to post the revised Compliance Plan on the county website upon approval.
