Wayne County IT reports increased ticket volume and heightened cybersecurity alert

Matt Ury, Wayne County’s Information Technology Director, reported Jan. 13 that service ticket volume rose in December (a typical end-of-year pattern) and that the department is engaged in several ARPA-funded projects. He said cybersecurity remains on "high alert" after numerous attempted intrusions and an increase in phishing attacks.
Ury said once a planned switch project is completed the department will implement additional cybersecurity measures. The committee did not vote on new IT expenditures at the Jan. 13 meeting; the update was informational and part of routine departmental reporting provided to committee members in advance.
